Franz-Josef advises corporations and partnerships, with a particular focus on corporate restructurings (including cross-border transactions). In any given transaction, Franz-Josef acts either as an Attorney at Law or as a Notary. Franz-Josef‘s special expertise is in the field of relationships among shareholders, in particular when advising significant family enterprises.

The succession of enterprises is an invariable aspect when representing and advising family enterprises as well as their shareholders/partners.  Advising on, and resolving, inheritance law issues, including anticipated successions, is also a significant aspect of Franz-Josef’s practice.

Franz-Josef was admitted to the German Bar in 1994, and has been a Notary since 2011.  Before he co-founded SCHIEDERMAIR in 2001, he was with LINKLATERS OPPENHOF & RÄDLER (previously Oppenhoff & Rädler) in Frankfurt and in Cologne.  From 1995 to 1996 he was a visiting Attorney at KIRKLAND & ELLIS in Chicago.

Franz-Josef studied Law at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany as well as in Speyer, Germany.
