Real Estate Law

Through her prior experience as a real estate attorney at a large international law firm (Mayer Brown), as in-house counsel at the German subsidiary of the servicer of a US private equity fund (Lone Star; each in Frankfurt) and at Siemens AG (Munich), Christine has vast experience in advising on real estate matters.

Asset Management

Through her corporate in-house experiences, Christine is familiar with all legal issues relating to asset management e.g., contracts, corporate, foreclosure, and bankruptcy issues. Conflicts of laws issues, energy law, real estate broker law, and topics relating to the sale or purchase of real estate, are also areas in which she is experienced.

Inheritance Law

Christine advises on inheritance law matters, including drafting wills, disputes among communities of heirs, and estate matters.

Non-Performing Loans

Christine has expertise in connection with the reorganization and winding-up of distressed real-estate secured debt. This includes the drafting of, and advising on, receivable sales and realization agreements.

  • Ongoing advice to the real estate subsidiary of a German “Landesbank”
  • Represented a US publicly-held payment service provider client regarding a commercial lease in a top Frankfurt location (2,500 square meters)
  • Ongoing advice to a German real estate fund, including on the acquisition of medical centers, senior-citizens homes, hotels, local supply chains, and logistics centers
  • Headed due diligence for sale of two wind parks (ten wind energy turbines)
  • Reviewed and advised on the acquisition of a loan facility secured by a land charge on hereditary building rights (face value of EUR 82 million)
  • Advised on various portfolio-holding sales regarding secured and unsecured credit arrangements
  • Advised a Swiss bank on the acquisition of commercial and residential real estate complex (EUR 30 million)
  • Advised and represented a Dutch bank on the acquisition of a logistics center in a special planning zone of the Hamburg, Germany harbor (EUR 20 million)
  • Reviewed and advised on the acquisition of a real estate secured portfolio of credit arrangements (GBP 900 million)
  • Restructuring and acquisition of a pre-REIT that held 14 office complexes (EUR 100 million)

Christine gained international experience through a six-month secondment at Hudson Advisors UK in London, during her post-graduate legal training period that included a stint at Armstrong Teasdale in St. Louis , MO, and one year as a high school exchange student in Texas.

Christine completed her post-graduate legal training period in Frankfurt as well as at the German Academy for Administration in Speyer, Germany.  Christine studied law at the Philipps University in Marburg, Germany where she led a working group as a Student Assistant.  She completed a doctoral thesis on contract law.  She also completed a teaching stint at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
